You Learned Early That You Were Too Much

Too sensitive, too emotional, too affected by the mood of every room you walk into.

So you became the one who takes care of everyone else, quietly carrying your own anxiety and exhaustion.

You hid the parts that made other people uncomfortable.

And it worked. That's the part nobody warns you about.

Your nervous system notices more, so painful experiences leave imprints that shape how you relate to yourself.

A new ache under your ribs becomes proof something is wrong, and the doctor finds nothing again.

Depth Is Why the Old Things Land Hard
  • So you overthink.
  • You absorb moods that were never yours.
  • Boundaries collapse when someone leans on them.

You can be this porous and still belong to yourself.

EMDR Works Below the Level of Explanation

You already know why you react the way you do. Knowing hasn't moved it.

EMDR helps your brain and nervous system process experiences that remain emotionally stuck, at the layer where the pattern is actually held.

And my approach is built specifically for highly sensitive people.

Most of it shows up in ordinary moments, long before you'd call it healing.

  • Wake up grounded instead of already scanning the day.
  • Leave a crowded room carrying only your own mood.
  • Say yes because you want to, and no without guilt.
  • Trust your own read on a situation the first time.
  • Tell the difference between hurt and harm, in the moment.
  • Stay close to people without disappearing into them.

We move at the pace your body sets.

Three Phases, Paced for Your Nervous System

Reprocessing begins only after safety and resourcing are in place, and only when you say so.

01·

Creating Inner Safety

Healing begins with helping your nervous system experience safety. We build grounding, regulation, and self-compassion you can rely on.

Your body learns it can settle.

02·

Healing the Roots

Once you feel resourced, we use EMDR to gently process the experiences that still shape your present, including the moments you learned it wasn't safe to be yourself.

The past stops steering the present.

03·

Living Your Sensitivity as a Gift

You build trust in your own read, set boundaries that hold, and make choices from what you want instead of what you fear.

You lead with what you feel.

Why Trust Me As Your Partner in Healing

A pace you set, every session

You decide when we begin reprocessing and when we stop, and that decision holds even when I think you're ready.

EMDR shaped by how much you notice

My training runs through transpersonal psychotherapy, energy work, subtle-body practice, parts work, and somatic awareness, so EMDR arrives inside a whole approach.

A relationship patient enough to be tested

Doubt about me is welcome out loud, and testing whether I'm actually safe belongs inside the work.

Frequently Asked Questions

Book Your Free 20-Minute Consultation
Is EMDR too intense for a highly sensitive person?

That's what Phase One is for. Reprocessing begins only after grounding and resourcing are in place, and only when you say so.

Do I have to retell the whole story?

EMDR does not require you to narrate every detail out loud. Much of the processing happens internally, and you choose what you say.

What if I've already done years of therapy?

Insight and relief live in different places. EMDR works on the second, which is often where insight-rich people find their first real movement.

Are you based in Boulder, Colorado?

My practice is anchored in Boulder and I work with people across Colorado. Online sessions available.

Will this make me less sensitive?

The goal here is the same depth with more room around it, so what you feel becomes something you can actually use.
